Fishing Hacks

Try the Catch and Keep Rig for Trout. It uses a small worm weight or egg sinker, a small snap swivel, and a size 10, 12, or 14 treble hook. Bait it with PowerBait, Corn, or favorite bait and adjust the line length to the hook as needed. Also, do use it for catching and keeping trout and not catch and release as the trout tend to be deep hooked. Size 10 Treble Hooks Small Snap Swivels Worm Weights

Answering the mail concerning our trip to the Texas Coast last month where we caught a number of fish including some nice size Bull Reds, a Black Drum, and Sharks. Largest was a Black Tip Shark that went 54 inches in length! Received several requests seeking suggestions and tips when fishing for sharks from a pier. As we are not experts - just "Average Joes" who have a passion for fishing, we thought it best to post things we did this trip as well as past trips to the Coast. Back to a local pond that I have not fished for in awhile to "test" the Martin Fly Fishing Combo sold in a kit by Amazon. Using a Muddler Minnow that came with the kit. It's beaten up but still catches fish. Lots of fun, and got a new idea for the next video in the series where I use only 32 feet of line to fish. The intent... you don't need to cast long distances to catch fish to get started fly fishing! Stay tuned for more!

Originally published October 20, 2019 Alrighty, last weekend was sidetracked with a DIY Honey Do to make a Lazy Susan. Simple build… got it done! Turned out nice. Matched the table too. Able to get  back to fishing again in short order. Whew!
